Some books I picked up today at the used bookstore on NW 30th & Penn in OKC today. If you haven’t made it to this bookstore it is so worth the trip! Nothing is in order but the books are priced CHEAP! There was a section labeled “Kurt Vonnegut” that had no such books in it. I guess the owner’s too busy discussing the pathologies of american soldiers during world war II to update his inventory, cause that’s what he was doing when I went to check out. These should keep me fairly occupied during the plane ride and initial transition period when I first arrive in Puebla.
I’ve been getting myself pretty nervous/anxious about this trip. It’s been a while since I’ve just up and gone to some foreign place all by myself. This trip is gonna be different though; I’ve at least got a sense of what I’d like for it to mean to me. This is me becoming the person I want to be. Practice Spanish, engage my mother culture, reach out to the community surrounding me, and pour my heart out by taking advantage of the opportunities that have somehow found there way in front of me. Those are my tentative plans anyhow, we’ll just have to see what really happens once I get there.
